01/January/2025: Happy New Year, Everyone!

03/January/2025: New Year Lab Dinner! The RGCB team went for a lab dinner eat-out at Spicebridge Restaurant.

06/January/2025: Happy Birthday Dharma! The group celebrated Dharma’s birthday with cake!

10/January/2025: Happy Birthday Surajit! Surajit’s birthday was celebrated at the ILS lab.

27/January/2025 – 01/February/2025: Dileep is back at ILS on a brief visit! Dileep visited ILS for some XRD experiments and had New Year lab outings with ILS lab members!

01/February/2025: Welcome Hearty February!

05/February/2025: Manas came to visit RGCB! Our PhD alumnus, Dr. Manas Kumar Jagdev, who is currently in Florida, USA, visited us at our RGCB lab. It was great catching up, and thanks to him for spending time with our current lab members.

09/February/2025: Dileep @ the 37th Kerala Science Congress! Dileep gave a lead talk on the theme of ‘One Health’ and chaired the oral and poster presentation sessions under the theme of ‘Health Sciences’.

11/February/2025: Surajit presented his work at the Science Spectrum of ILS! ILS celebrated its 36th Foundation Day, and as part of the programs, Surajit’s abstract was selected, and he presented a part of his PhD work at the Science Spectrum of ILS event.

04/March/2025: Our work on Plasmodium falciparum nucleoplasmin gets published in JBC. Thus, finally, Ketul’s hard work paid off as a paper in JBC.

08/March/2025: Ruchir and Swabhiman came visiting to Bhubaneswar! Dileep was in Bhubaneswar over the weekend too, and the group had a great time at Raasta Cafe!

13/March/2025: Happy Holi! We celebrate the festival of colors in our own way!

24/March/2025: Welcome Rajesh! Our collaborator’s PhD student from NITTE University, Mangalore, Mr. Rajesh Kumar Shah, is visiting us to do some protein troubleshooting work.

28/March/2025: Farewell to Vasu & Afthab! Our MSc dissertation student Afthab and CPIB intern Vasu completed their respective projects, and we held a farewell party for both of them! Bestest wishes to you both!

01/April/2025: Welcome Teebin! We welcome our dissertation student, Teebin M. Teemon, who is pursuing his MSc (Applied Microbiology) from St Thomas College, Pala, Kottayam!

02/April/2025: Welcome Chithira! Chithira JD, an MSc (Biotechnology) student from St. Mary’s College for Women, Thiruvalla, Pathanamthitta, has joined our group as a dissertation student.

20/April/2025: Happy Easter! DVasuLab wishes a Happy Easter to everyone!

21/April/2025: Our first cryo-EM paper is out! The 2.0 A cryo-EM structure of a 55 kDa nucleoplasmin reported in this manuscript was completed with full support from Dr. Sandip Basak and Dr. Nikhil Bharambe from NTU, Singapore.

03/May/2025: Our second cryo-EM paper is also out! Our work on the Rice ClpB1 heptamer structure by cryo-EM has been published in the International Journal of Biological Macromolecules. The work involved extensive collaborative efforts.

04/June/2025: Nashua joins us as an intern. RGCB MSc student, Nashua Rollie Laloo, joins our group as a summer intern. He will be with us for 2 months.

12/June/2025: Welcome Abhishek! Abhishek S. Nair, a 4th-year integrated MSc Life Sciences student from the Central University of Tamil Nadu, Thiruvarur, has joined our group as a summer intern with the Indian Academy’s joint Summer Research Fellowship. Have a great learning experience with us, Abhishek!

25/June/2025: Farewell to Teebin and Chithira and Birthday wishes to Abhishek! Teebin and Chithira are completing their MSc dissertation projects with us, and Abhishek had his birthday. We had two celebrations!

04/July/2025: Happy Birthday, Archana! We celebrated Archana’s birthday in our RGCB lab, her first birthday in Trivandrum! We had a group photo op on the occasion as well!

21/July/2025: Happy Birthday, Arya! Arya’s birthday was celebrated in the lab. Photos can be seen here!

07/October/2025: Welcome, Silla! Silla Santhosh joins our group as a research intern. She has an MSc (Biophysics) degree from Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam.

10/November/2025: Happy Birthday, Anagha! We celebrated Anagha’s birthday on 13th November! A group photo taken after the celebration is here!

10/November/2025: Biochimie paper! Surajit’s manuscript titled ‘Characterisation of Entamoeba histolytica Anti-Silencing Function 1 as a histone chaperone’ has been accepted for publication in the French Society journal – Biochimie.
