Two years after joining our group at ILS as a technician, Manas got upgraded to the position of a project SRF and registered for his PhD in Utkal University with Prof. J. Dandapat as a co-guide much later. The first three structures from our group belong to him and our first two research publications too! We have lost count of the number of structures he has completed so far! He has independently collected X-ray diffraction data from RRCAT (India), ESRF (France), Elettra (Italy), as well as from in-house machines. He had indeed been our lucky charm! He defended his PhD thesis submitted to Utkal University on 16th February 2022. He is currently a postdoc at the University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP) with Prof. Kim Chu-Young.

In fact, he brought in a wonderfully different flavour to the group. The group hasn’t seen a better mentor than Rajiv! He has trained new students with great pleasure. He completed the crystal structure of four proteins. His 5th first-author manuscript is now ready for submission. He has collected X-ray diffraction data from ESRF (France), RRCAT (India), as well as in-house machines. He defended his thesis submitted to Manipal Academy of Higher Education (Manipal University) on 26th August 2021.
